Prints
Are your prints limited edition?
Yes, all of my prints, both Screenprints and Giclée prints are limited edition. The editions vary per image mostly ranging from 50 – 100 prints per edition, (my Omaha Sunrise print is the only edition that I have released at 200 prints).
Are your prints numbered and signed?
Yes, all of my prints are individually named, numbered and signed by myself.
Are your prints digital copies?
I have a mixture of digital and non-digital prints.
My Giclée prints are very high quality digital prints, printed by specialist printers, Phreon, based in West Auckland.
Screenprints are not digital prints and are made using a very manual, hands-on, artistic process. This involves painting an original painting being mindful of the the layers of paint that are used. For each layer of paint, silk fabric screens are individually painted with UV paint and the block image of that layer is burnt onto these screens. Ink is then colour matched to the original painting and passed through the silk screens to create different colour layers of ink on the paper. (The ink will only go through the section of the screen that was burnt using the UV process). The different ink layers are dried on the paper before the next layer is printed. When printing subsequent layers, they have to be perfectly aligned so that they match up exactly over the previous layers, allowing colours to show through and forms to take shape on the paper. My screenprints have been made with up to 33 different ink layers. I create my Screen Prints with the team from Artrite, specialist Screenprinters in Onehunga, Auckland
What paper and inks are your Giclée prints printed on?
My giclée prints are printed on ILFORD Smooth 100% Cotton Rag 310gsm – acid free, archival (museum) grade paper, using only Genuine EPSON Pure pigment inks.
Shipping
Do you have free shipping?
Yes! All prints have free shipping throughout New Zealand (including rural delivery).
How are prints packaged and shipped?
Prints are gently rolled in tissue paper and sent in cardboard tubes via NZ Post courier to your destination.
Are prints insured when sent?
Yes, NZ post courier has insurance included.
What do I do if my print is damaged from shipping?
Take a photo of the damage and email me directly. I will then arrange a courier to pick up the print to deliver it back to me and I will send you out a replacement print.
Is shipping included in the cost of my print?
Yes, shipping is free, there is no additional cost for New Zealand delivery, (including rural delivery).
How quickly can I expect my print?
My Gilcée prints can take a little longer to arrive to your address when compared with other ecommerce products. This is because they are printed to order and have to be sent from the printers to myself where I sign and number them before sending them out to you. I don’t keep this stock on hand. All of my prints are not mass produced, and you are purchasing a high quality, truly limited edition product. My screenprints are already all printed and I have these on hand ready to roll into the tubes and send out, so this is a quicker process.
Refunds and Returns
Can I return my print and get a refund if I change my mind?
Unfortunately, no. As my prints are printed to order and due to the nature of a limited edition, paper product, I am unable to return prints for change of mind reasons.
Can I return my print if it is damaged?
If damage has occurred due to shipping reasons, you can absolutely return the print for a replacement. Damage needs to be reported immediately on receiving the print – within 24 hours, so I can apply to be refunded by the courier company insurance.
If damage has occurred from how the print has been handled after it has been delivered or during the framing process, you are unfortunately unable to return the print for a refund. Ensure that you have clean hands, a flat, dry, clean bench top when viewing your print. The print is usually best viewed with your local framer.
Handling and Framing
How do I handle my print?
Paper prints are delicate and should be treated with care. I suggest viewing the print with the framers but if you do view it at home, I suggest having clean hands and having a clear, clean bench to view it on. When rolling the print up again, be very careful to avoid creasing the print.
Does my print come framed?
No, my prints are sold unframed and they are sent in cardboard tubes. It is best to get prints framed sooner rather than later so that they are not rolled for long periods of time.
What type of framing should I get for my print?
Framing choice is personal and depends on the print, your home and your taste. I recommend getting the print framed at specialist framers and get their advice to help you make your choice. I’m happy to discuss options with you though if you want my opinion and some help and guidance.
